NATION OF LIGHT

(Part 3)

In the evening of Amun,
The sun breathed out
A flame
That turned
Into the shape of a snake
In the shadow of
The moon.
Then in a fertile young womb,
The serpent entered
At the tune of the
Virgin’s swoon
And wooed her like the sun
Erects the wet blue lotus
Always awake at the lake -
And in
Full bloom.

Crops turned,
Leaves fell,
Cities were built
Wherever wells
Or living thing
Breathed to drink and tell,
Yet despite the rise of prosperity
Across the lands of
Egypt’s New Kingdom,
There were troubles brewing
In the heavens above that
Brought them light and
Tried to bridge them.
While Amun's High Priests had
Everyone praying
And paying
For health, wealth, and peace -
The Angels had been
Painfully watching
From their clouds -
At their ends
And knees.

In the Capital of Thebes -
Nefertiti and Tutankhumen
Quickly became connected
By the seams.
She taught him Metaphysics,
Harmony,
And how to
Travel in his dreams.
They lived in a world of music and books
And studied the many
Different ways to heal,
But there was one shred
Of knowledge Nefertiti fought
Hard to conceal.
Her identity as the future king’s
Natural mother was never to be revealed.
To stay and mentor her son,
As his blood sister,
Was part of Ay and Tiye's
Final sealing deal.
But over time,
It became evident that
Confused Little Tut
Never wanted to leave
His sister’s side,
And with more time,
He could not deny
His overflowing fondness for her
Flooding like the Nile inside.
And sometimes when she touched him
He couldn’t contain his pride.
Then the day came when the
Young Tut asked Tiye
If he could make Neferiti
His Queen and eternal bride.
And with careful stride,
Tiye warned Nefertiti
To go back home
And hide.

Tutankhamun
Was destined
To be the King
Of all Kings of Egypt -
And even though marrying
Within the same bloodline
Was the way royalty stayed fixed
Upon the command
And inheritance timeline,
A boy marrying his mother
Was never considered genetically -
Or morally fine.
So Nefertiti tearfully excused herself
And fled straight to Philae.
And when word spread around the
Kingdom
That the sister of the King
Had suddenly come down with a contagious fever,
The little boy put on his straps
And anxiously set out to see her.
But the boy arrived with his men
In a palace abandoned,
Wet and condemned.
And then,
A servant lying on the floor
Of Aswan’s door -
Claimed a disease carried by the flies
Had wiped out all the animals and children
Right before his very eyes.
So Tutankhamen returned back to Thebes
And cried. -
He then abandoned the world
To mourn his lost bride.
And what really destroyed him -
That was pinnacle
For the growth
Of his light
In this sensitive but epic time,
Was that with all his 7 years of
Knowledge on healing
And all the medicines Nefer would teach him
He had let the only one he loved -
Get terminally sick
And die.
Yet in his time alone,
He discovered a new power manifest -
Way too strong for anyone his
Make or age.
And in his solitude
Mixed with sadness, madness, and rage,
Tut found he could mend metals,
Lift fruit,
And read an entire book
Without ever turning
A page.

In the twilight of Amun,
Marks the start of
The evolution of
Three of the most prolific names
In all of Egyptian history -
That up until now
Have all remained
Nothing more than a candlelit
Mystery.

So wait and see,
Because once you read
How the puzzle all fits --
You will see the greater picture
Come together
Like sparks of magic,
Or music.
